About Us: Corpo Freudiano Vancouver
Following our desire, the Lacan Salon declares itself a School of Psychoanalysis, committed to the transmission of psychoanalysis and the formation of analysts in Vancouver. We are sustained by the works of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan, and associated with Corpo Freudiano, a psychoanalytic school founded in 1994 in Brazil. Dr. Hilda Fernandez-Alvarez (President) is a Vancouver-based Lacanian psychoanalyst with over 30 years of clinical experience in public and private settings in both Mexico and Canada. Her doctoral research analyzes trauma and healing discourses in public mental health institutions.
