Seminar 1
The Vessel of Desire: the paths of Ethics from Freud to Lacan – In this introductory lecture, Denise Maurano will guide us through the conceptual pillars of the unconscious and the drives, following the works of both Freud and Lacan’s, as well as their implications for the ethics of psychoanalysis.
From the clinic to theory: the invention of the unconscious. This is the first of four lecture parts. Denise will discuss a clinical case by Freud to show how psychoanalytic theory developed, emphasizing the concept of the unconscious as it moved from Freud to Lacan.
Seminar 2
The unconscious as a language: In this second part of the seminar, we will be introduced to the various mechanisms surrounding the psychic apparatus, from the repressed to the conscious and unconscious stances, focusing on Freud’s first and second topics and Lacan’s return to his theory – and the well-known “the unconscious is structured like a language.”
The drives: Our mythology: In this third part of the second seminar, Denise Maurano will deepen and expand her investigation, focusing on the theory of the drives and how it differs from instinct, and the variations it underwent during Freud’s investigation and Lacan’s writings.
The death drive as the memory of nature in us: Denise will end her seminar bringing new insights on the death drive as a “memory of nature in us, its cyclical rhythm, and the aspects of creation which go beyond a subjective stance.” Denise will bring to the discussion Lacan’s Seminar VII on Ethics and Freud’s Nietzsche-inspired influences on the ethical stance in psychoanalysis.
Biography: Denise Maurano Mello is a psychoanalyst and writer based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She held a full-time teaching position at the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). She has a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Paris XII and PUC/RJ. Post-doctorate in Letters (Letras), also at PUC/RJ and in Psychoanalysis from the Université de Nice (France). She is a member of Corpo Freudiano Rio de Janeiro and a Correspondent Member at the Association Insistance (Paris). Author of several books, she is also the editor of the literary and psychoanalytical magazine Psicanálise e Barroco em Revista.

Sobre o Evento:
Este seminário faz parte da formação permanente em psicanálise do Corpo Freudiano Vancouver e tem como objetivo dialogar com a psicanálise e com sua transmissão. Denise Maurano vai apresentar os conceitos do inconsciente e as topologias freudianas de ego/id/inconsciente, além do retorno de Lacan a essa mesma pesquisa.
Seminário 1
Nau do Desejo: os caminhos da Ética de Freud a Lacan – Nesta palestra introdutória, Denise Maurano nos guiará pelos pilares conceituais do inconsciente e das pulsões, acompanhando as obras de Freud e Lacan, bem como suas implicações para a ética da psicanálise.
Da clínica à teoria: a invenção do inconsciente. Esta é a primeira parte do seminário dividido em quatro momentos. Denise discutirá um caso clínico de Freud para mostrar como a teoria psicanalítica se desenvolveu, enfatizando o conceito de inconsciente e suas modificações teóricas e práticas de Freud a Lacan.
Seminário 2
O inconsciente como linguagem: Nesta segunda parte do seminário, seremos apresentados aos vários mecanismos que cercam o aparelho psíquico, desde o recalque até as instâncias conscientes e inconscientes, com foco na primeira e na segunda tópicas de Freud e no retorno de Lacan à sua teoria – e ao conhecido “o inconsciente é estruturado como uma linguagem.”
As Pulsões: nossa mitologia: Nesta terceira parte do segundo seminário, Denise Maurano irá aprofundar e expandir sua investigação, focando na teoria das pulsões e em como ela difere do instinto, bem como nas variações que sofreu ao longo da investigação de Freud e dos escritos de Lacan.
A pulsão de morte como a memória da natureza em nós: Denise encerrará seu seminário trazendo novos insights sobre a pulsão de morte como uma “memória da natureza em nós, seu ritmo cíclico e os aspectos da criação que vão além do desejo subjetivo.” Denise trará para a discussão o Seminário VII de Lacan sobre Ética e as influências de Freud, inspiradas por Nietzsche, na ética da psicanálise.
Biografia: Denise Maurano Mello, é psicanalista, escritora, foi professora titular da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO).Tem doutorado em Filosofia pela Universidade de Paris XII e PUC/RJ. Pós-doutorado em Letras, também pela PUC/RJ e em Psicanalise pela Universidade de Nice FR. É membro do Corpo Freudiano do Rio de Janeiro e Membro Correspondente de Association Insistance (Paris). Autora de diversos livros e tambem edita Psicanálise e Barroco em Revista.
